If I have the camera on the macro setting with the macro extention I can't get nearly as close but the end result is much sharper and much less distorted.

Sometimes all the distortion and chromatic aberrations make for more interesting photos. Lomo sans lomo, I guess.

The macro shots with the HP/extention are not sharp but some of them are really cool.

I noticed this little guy while eating my lunch so I grabbed ye olde HP 945 with its convoluted macor add-on and nabbed some pics.
