I doubt this is what the tree had in mind when it began to envelope the fence.

First he's boosting cars and now stealing pumpkins. Next he's going to pet a seeing eye dog after the owner says no.

He drew a picture and I put this site's url on it and we sent it sailing from a parking lot in Beavercreek. We'll see if we get any responses.

What sort of thing polinates this? Hummingbird? Butterfly? Those weird moths we have in Ohio that have evolved to look like hummingbirds?

Who goes to the zoo to see animals?

This is a slightly out of focus shot that would have normally been thrown away. I decided to keep it based on the fact that it fits an overal theme here on M.F. JR. Find the bug. Enjoy.

I warmed it up a bit. The color is not, in this picture, as it was when it was shot. I think the picture I actually shot is a better one but warming the whole thing up gives it a feeling of sunset, to me, when it was actually taken in the middle of the day. I also think it's a good example of how being backlit CAN be a benefit every once in a great while.

Backlit scenes do suck, I admit. In addition to the obvious problems they also have a tendency to wreak havoc on even the best autofocus, as is the case with this picture. However, the fence's shadows are magic, I think, and so I don't mind having to scrap so many pictures. I really dig those shadows.

The entire frissa frassin' elephant enclosure was backlit!

I wish I had a better picture of this because, I've got to tell you, there are few things that look weirder than a bald assed ostrich. These two were pulling out their feathers with their beaks and eating the other animal's... ahem... leavings.

They had a motherflippin' rhymenocerous but we didn't see a hip-hopopotamus.

This weird thing looks amazing in full rez. I have no clue what it is. Does anyone know?

Sea lions and seals living together in sin? Next thing you know they'll be asking for partner benefits and the right to marry!

The playgound at the park, y'know... the free one..., might be exactly the same as this but it's not nearly as fun as this one at the zoo. The zoo that charges admission. The not free zoo.
